- Here the nail pierced hands of Jesus are breaking chains around someone's hands - as the chains are broken, lies which have been binding the individual are falling, along with the words Useless, Unloved, Worthless, Hatred etc. These are what give power to the chains to bind, but Jesus Christ has come to bring liberty to the captives, At the start of his ministry Jesus read out Isaiah 61:1-2 "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's Favour." Luke 4:18-19
This Scripture has been fulfilled, and for all who come to Jesus, they experience the freedom Jesus brings.
