There is a river.....Psalm 46:4
This picture I painted while at the Western Wall in Jerusalem, it took approximatly 6 hours to paint. Historically the wall represents the only remaining structure of what was once the Temple before the Romans demolished it in AD70.Through the centuries Jews have gathered here to pray, its a place of weeping and it symbolises the struggle of a nation for existance and the hope that the Temple would again be rebuilt. It could be said a river of tears have flowed here, and yet the Bible says "There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God" Psalm 46:4 its with this scripture in mind that I wanted to paint as a prayer that Jews would come to know the source of this river.
